This was a cold and wet experience. The Hellenic League Premier Division clash was situated at the Kayte Lane ground in the shadow of Cleeve Hill famously seen as the backdrop for the nearby Cheltenham Racecourse.
Attended the game with my Dad and daughter as we were visiting the Cotswolds and went with Dad to watch the game. The ground had a seated and thankfully, covered stand, as well as a clubhouse with tea, snacks and toilets. No programme here, as it was an online issue, but it only cost £7 to get in. The game was hard fought and there were two huge centre backs (one on each side) who attempted to take lumps out of the opposition. I walked the pitch a couple of times, to stay warm. Bishop’s Cleeve played in the green kit and Binfield in red.
Binfield came out on top and as my Dad said, Cleeve could have played all night and still not scored. It felt like winter was coming and the rain didn’t help!! Not a ground I’d clamour to return to unless it was a bright and warm day when the view would be good!!
