This Sevenoaks and District Premier League clash was played at the K Sports stadium in Ditton, Maidstone.

K Sports play at step 5/6 in the Southern Counties East League, with their facilities reflecting this, and West Kingsdown are also based at the ground with the game being played on the 3G main pitch.

The game started well with Southborough taking the lead in the 4th minute with a good finish from a player in space on the left side of the box

The game then swung from end to end. Both sides had openings and chances as it became apparent there were more goals still in this game.

In the 21st minute West Kingsdown’s number 8, scored a well deserved equaliser, with a great goal from 20 yards flying past the keeper into the net.
The rest of the first half was played out with some tough tackling and chances at both ends. The referee and his team did well keeping the play flowing and getting nearly all decisions right, despite some loud protests from the West Kingsdown bench.

At half time the teams were level at 1-1.

The second half opened with chances at either end, but it was West Kingsdown who went ahead on 55 minutes with a fine finish from the number 27.

The game then entered a period where both sides pushed hard to gain a goal. Southborough sought the equaliser and West Kingsdown wanted to create a two goal gap, that would allow them to feel confident of the victory.

At the final whistle West Kingsdown walked away with an entertaining 2-1 victory. Both teams played right upto the whistle and finished the day knowing they had left everything on the pitch.
