This Sevenoaks and District Football League match was played on a wet and windy Saturday afternoon. As the game began the tables showed that West Kingsdown were 3rd in the Premier Division, with Hawkenbury back in 6th. West Kingsdown play in red and black vertical stripes and black shorts, with Hawkenbury in gold shirts and black shorts.

The game started well with Hawkenbury’s number 9 missing a clear chance to secure an opener, with a chance hit wide from six yards, in front of an open goal.

In heavier and heavier rain and winds, the teams spent much of the match battling in the midfield area with chances few and far between.

West Kingsdown made most of the first half slope when they won and converted a penalty on 43 minutes.

The second half saw chances at both ends with Hawkenbury pushing constantly for a goal and West Kingsdown controlling play, wherever possible and using the more frenetic push forward from Hawkenbury, to launch counter attacks.
The Hawkenbury keeper made some point blank saves as his defence was left exposed as they threw everything at the West Kingsdown goal.

At the final whistle the West Kingsdown players celebrated a hard fought and well earned 0-1 away victory. Hawkenbury played well but left frustrated by an inability to finish today.
