Memory Lane – Gloucester City AFC v Truro City FC – Saturday 8th September 2018 – Jubilee Stadium

Gloucester City Matchday Programme

The Jubilee Stadium is a modern ground on the edge of Evesham. Gloucester are ground sharing and while this wasn’t ideal, they have a decent following and have sustained a National League South place.

Manager Leigh Robinson – newly appointed at Truro this season took his team into a tough tie away at a Gloucester side who had made a decent start.

Gloucester Manager, Marc Richards’ notes in the matchday programme.

The game started positively for Truro despite an edgy opening, with Tyler Harvey snatching on an error by the home team’s keeper (Matthew Yates) to stab home on 38 minutes. Gloucester battled to come back into the game and the sun shone down to assist both sides into what became a really attractive battle.

A close battle on a warm September afternoon.

In the second half the clouds made it cooler and grey and Gloucester threw everything forward to try and score an equaliser. Benjamin Harding broke free on 77 minutes to slot home Truro’s second, and match deciding, goal which really dampened the mood of the Gloucester faithful.

At the final whistle, the 314 in the crowd, left knowing they’d seen two teams throw everything at the match and deliver a thoroughly entertaining spectacle.

Beautiful setting
